How we built a professional author website for Anna Featherstone to support her book launch, platform, and ongoing non-fiction writing career.
We worked with Australian non-fiction writer Anna Featherstone to create a website that could do justice to her diverse body of work and support the upcoming release of Look – It’s Your Book!. In this Anna Featherstone author website case study, we’ll walk through our process and how the result helps her stand out across a broad range of audiences.
Inside the Anna Featherstone Author Website Case Study
Anna Featherstone came to Jin & Co. with an existing website, two published books under her belt—Small Farm Success and Honey Farm Dreaming—and a brand-new title on the horizon: Look – It’s Your Book! A Self-Publishing Guide for Australian Writers. She had built a reputation writing about sustainable farming, bee conservation, parenting, and global challenges, but felt her DIY site wasn’t keeping up with her growing career. What she needed was something more polished, cohesive, and versatile author platform design.

Anna’s challenge
Her existing website didn’t match the professional standard she wanted to present, especially with a new book launch approaching. She also needed a single space to support her broad audience: from newspaper and magazine editors to readers of niche non-fiction, aspiring authors, and event organisers. She was juggling many hats—writer, speaker, educator, entrepreneur—and needed a digital presence that could reflect all of them.
What complicated things further was that she had a separate eCommerce site for Small Farm Success that was clunky to manage and visually disconnected from her brand. With Look – It’s Your Book! targeting aspiring self-publishers, it was especially important that her own
self-publishing author site could model best practice.
Designing for a self-publishing author platform
From the outset, Anna was clear about her aesthetic: clean, modern, white backgrounds, fresh imagery, and warm golden yellows and greens that hinted at her love of bees and the natural world. She didn’t just want a beautiful website—she wanted one that was practical, easy to update, and capable of evolving as her career continued to grow.
We started with clarity and structure: organising her content into logical, accessible sections that were intuitive to navigate. We built dedicated pages for each of her books, including integrated buy buttons, media-friendly press kits, and downloadable resources for Look – It’s Your Book!. Blog and article sections were restructured for easier updating, while her new shop was fully integrated into the main site—no more clunky redirections.
We also made space for all the other hats Anna wears. From grant writing services and article writing to speaking and consulting, the site supports the full scope of her work without feeling overloaded. There’s room to showcase past work, capture media attention, and provide practical tools for her peers and clients alike.

Helping Anna launch “Look – It’s Your Book!” with confidence
Anna’s new non-fiction author website launched in time for Look – It’s Your Book!, a guide praised for its frank advice and empowering tone. The book helps Australian authors navigate the self-publishing world, and now her website does the same—not just for her readers, but for her as a working author and entrepreneur.
As Anna later put it:
“Having a professional author website has elevated my confidence in everything from reaching out to people for interviews through to planning my latest book launch. It’s not just a website, it’s a business and Jin helped me get there.”

From the ability to easily update content, to the peace of mind that comes from having a streamlined digital home, Anna now has a site that serves her multifaceted writing life.

Ongoing support and feedback
Anna appreciated how streamlined the whole process was:
“Jin is fast, thorough, responsive, practical, knowledgeable and entertaining. If he was an author, he’d be a bestseller!”

And because she loves practical details, she suggested a final printable project summary at handover—a simple improvement we’ve since built into our client delivery.
Her site now models exactly what her readers are looking to build: a clear, professional, purpose-built author platform.
