“With eight new picture books scheduled for publication over the next three years, I decided it was time to have a professional website with my own domain. I had been using a free website which I dreaded using and it was very time consuming. Not only that, my site did not look professional or user friendly and had limited functions.

Several high profile author/illustrator friends recommended Jin. I checked out their websites and quickly knew I had found the right designer.

Jin responded to my query straight away and he soon got the ball rolling. I loved exploring Jin’s available website styles and how whichever one I chose would be unique to me.

As I’m not very tech savvy I had a few questions for Jin before I settled on my webpage design. He always responded with clarity and timeliness which made the setting up process easy.

Not only did he deliver on what I had requested creatively, but he also came up with some really novel ideas that weren’t even on my radar. Whenever I needed technical support, he was very quick to respond to and resolve any issue.

Due to my fulfilment warehouse having some very specific point of sales parameters, I had to lean on Jin to communicate directly with their tech team to get our shipping rates populating correctly through the site. He went above and beyond to make sure everything on his end was working properly and then walked the tech team through issues on their end that were not his responsibility to resolve.**

How you found working with a designer outside of the US. What would you say to other writers concerned about the time difference and distance?

I work with teams around the world in various time zones on various film & commercial projects. That being said, my working relationship with Jin was one of the least difficult I’ve faced with such a significant time difference.

I really loved how Jin went the extra mile to incorporate a sliding/transitioning color scheme while you scrolled through the site. It showed me that he put a lot of thought and care into my website and familiarized himself with the source material he was designing for.

My website, which I have had for 2 years, originally through Jin as well, needed to be refreshed and updated as I have another book, Nancy Business, coming out in June 2021. I first got my website before my debut, The Nancys, was published and since then I have learned a lot about how I use the website and what areas I wanted to focus on for the refresh.

I chose to stay with Jin as over the years I have worked with him he has always helped me, he is very good at what he does and it always feels like he understands and is on your side. He is excellent.

What’s he like to work with? Responsive, collaborative, patient, highly skilled, excellent designer, always works within the time-period he tells you. Highly recommend.

Jin is excellent to work with, very fast, great eye for design and was able to interpret what I had in my in head to the webpage in such a painless way.

Jin helped me realise what it was I had in my head – to the finished website. I wanted something that appeared simple and easy to navigate for the user but stylish and high performing as well. I wanted to retain the look and feel of my original website as well. Jin led me by the hand and at the end of our one-on-one had a solution for me which I was thrilled with.

Go with Jin, full stop. It is well worth the money. A website is an investment in the business side of your writing and Jin is an expert in his field. Can not recommend highly enough.

I love the new design, I find it so easy to navigate, yet it has all the old information from the old site. I also love how the new website works on mobile devices

I am a children’s book writer and illustrator and I love the website Jin Wang has designed for me.

It reflects my personality and the nature of my writing, looks professional and is simple to navigate around. I’m not tech savvy but with Jin’s design I can make changes to the information on my website myself which I think is a real bonus.

I was aware of the importance of having a ‘presence’ online, even as a pre-published writer, so I quickly threw together a website. I wanted a site that really represented me and my writing and I found it difficult to create my vision on my own.

When I sold my first book I knew I wanted to ‘invest’ my advance into creating a website. I searched online for website designers who specialised in authors and also checked out the sites of other children’s book writers. Jin’s site really stood out to me—his designs are fresh and modern, exactly what I wanted for my own site.

Jin makes the whole process very straightforward. He doesn’t overwhelm with information, which I appreciated, and he guided me through everything step by step. Jin listened to my vision for the site and took all my thoughts on board.

There can be a temptation, with so much information available for free online, to try and create a site on your own. However, the hours of research and fiddling it takes is time taken away from creating. Working with Jin made the process simple and the end product was so much more than I could have achieved on my own.

I didn’t find the time difference between the U.S. and Australia to be a problem. Jin responds promptly to emails and has experience working with authors all over the world.

I would definitely recommend Jin’s services to other writers. I know for a fact that literary agents and publishers look at author’s websites when they are considering their work. Why not make the best impression you can with a memorable and professional website.

The only area that I found a bit confusing was at the beginning of the process with regards to choosing a package. It helped to know that additional elements can be added as needed e.g. I didn’t start off with a newsletter but decided to add that on at the end.

When I saw the final website design for the first time I was thrilled! Jin really went out of his way to include all the design elements I had hoped for. The design has given me a starting block for my marketing campaign and a focus for my online presence.

As a writer of children’s fantasy, I knew I wanted something different in a website.

Jin’s previous work made me suspect that he could offer this, and his preproduction questionnaire clarified my thoughts. Once this was done, the whole process was remarkably simple from my point of view.

Jin came back to me with a clear budget (adjusted to my finances) and, within a very short time, a design that struck just the right note. He responded quickly to my suggestions for changes, made alternative suggestions when one or two of mine didn’t work, fixed any problems promptly and was a pleasure to deal with.

Plus I’m immensely happy with what he created.
